February 2015 - Birchbox (Rent the Runway: Guest Editor Box)

This month I received the "Rent the Runway" box.  I was interested in all the samples included so I chose that instead of one of the other samples.  If you accumulate 500 points, then you're qualified for "Aces" status.  With this you will get free shipping on all orders, anniversary perks and more!  You will also have a choice of picking a sample for the next month's box or the Guest Editor Box.  All you have to do is continue on accumulating 500 points in a calendar year.  This box can still be ordered on the website.  Birchbox is only $10/month; sign up here!

Fekkai - Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo  I love dry shampoos, but I haven't tried this one yet.  I'm not a real fan of transparent dry shampoos because the ones I've tried don't make my hair look clean at all, but I'm hoping that's not the case with this one.

Not Soap, Radio - Body Wash in The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in  I received a different body wash from this brand previously and am excited to try a different one.  I love the scents and product names are clever.

derma e - Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub  I love facial scrubs so I'm always willing to try different ones.

theBalm - Read My Lips  The packaging on this lip gloss is cute and I love the color.

Sumita - Color Contrast Eyeliner  I got this in a navy color.  I would have liked a different, fun color, but this is still nice.

November 2014 Birchbox

amika Nourishing Mask - This is the item I picked for my Birchbox this month.  I love hair masks.  It hydrates while repairing damaged hair.  I can't wait to try this!

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash - This scent is exclusive to Birchbox.  The one I received is "Joy Inducing," smells of lemon sugar.  Each different body wash scent is supposed to take aim at a specific frustration.

dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner -  I've heard of this product before and was interested in trying it out.  It's suppose to suck the dirt out of your pores.

Make Silk Cream Lipstick - The colors are pretty, but I don't like this type of packaging.  It would have been better to receive a deluxe sample of one color, an actual tube of lipstick.

RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer in RUFFIAN Naked - I've gotten one of these nail polishes in a previous Birchbox and I do like it, but I wish I could of gotten a more exciting color.  At least this is a nice, basic color that I can use.

Chua Chocolatier - This was an extra in the box.  I love chocolate so I was very happy to get this!

I loved everything I got in my Birchbox this month, minus the lipstick, but that's only because of the packaging.  What did you get/are getting in your Birchbox this month?

September 2013 Birchbox

This month I received...

CC Cream, Moisturizer, and Facial Towelettes

1.  Yes To Grapefruit CC Cream - I do like Yes To products, but I don't need another CC Cream.  So sick of getting these samples, but at least this won't go to waste.

2.  Mereadesso All-In-One Moisturizer - There is a pretty good amount of this product considering it's in a foil packet.  I will definitely try this out.

3.  Yes To Blueberries Cleansing Facial Towelettes - Another Yes To product, and this is a good one.  I love cleansing facial towelettes and can never have too many.  This is perfect for the next time I travel.

Lip Gloss and Nail Polish

4.  Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss - I already got this from Sephora in the same exact size.  It came with two other deluxe samples.  I probably won't even use up the other one so I don't know what to do with this.

5.  RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer in Fox Hunt - I liked all the colors available, and this one too, but I initially wanted Hedge Fund.  This is still a pretty orange color for fall though.

Even though the majority of these items will be used, I'm still contemplating canceling Birchbox.  Yes, it is only $10/month, but it's not exciting or as fun as other subscriptions.  I don't look forward to it like I do with other subscriptions.  Plus, I can take that $10 and apply it to another box that I would want more.   I'm giving it another month.

Birchbox: Finishing School - August 2013

I am pretty happy with the products I received this month...

Lipstick, Peel, and Base Coat

1.  ModelCo Party Proof Lipstick - I wanted this lipstick last month, but glad that I got it in August's box.  This is one of my favorite items this month!  I got it in the color "Kitty," which seems to be the one a lot of people want.  This lipstick comes with two other shades.

Value is $8

2.  Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel Sensitive - This is my other favorite item in this month's box!  I just love peels.  Even though this is called a peel, you don't actually peel it off.  For this one, you just need to rinse.

Value is $4.88

3.  Dreams Nail Lacquer D's Calcium Base Coat -  This base strengthens nails and helps with discoloration.  Apparently it's suppose to extend your mani life.  We will see...can't wait to try it!

Value...not sure.

Foot Wipes and Tea

4.  Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes - I never really saw the point of these.  Maybe if you live in NYC and are always walking around on that incredibly dirty ground, I can see the need or these.  I will keep these and maybe they will come in handy some day.

Lifestyle Extra

5.  Ahmad Tea London Assorted Teas - I love tea so I'm always happy to get it.  I got it in the flavors "Earl Grey" and "Peach & Passion Fruit."  I have never tried this brand before.

Value is $0.35

The total is at least $15, and I wish I got more for my money, but I'm still happy with what I received overall. I'm looking forward to next month!

July 2013 Birchbox

Birchbox - July 2013

This is my first month of getting Birchbox, and for only $10/month, why not.  I signed up a little late for it so I may have not got the best items, according to those who have been getting Birchbox for a while, but I'm pretty happy with my first box.

This month USA's hit series SUITS was the inspiration for these samples.  I don't watch that show, nor have I ever heard of it.

1.  Caudalie Divine Legs - I've never tried this brand before and it also seems like a one-time use packet. This is a firming, moisturizing, tinted lotion that is suppose to give you a beachy glow.  Most tinted lotions I believe to lack moisture.  I will be saving this to use on a night out.

2.  COOLA Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face - Anther COOLA product.  I just got one in my Ipsy bag, but this one is different thankfully.  I can never have enough face moisturizer!

3.  Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect - This is a leave-in conditioner.  This will probably be my favorite product right here because my hair is a little dry these days from bleaching it.  It's a good travel size too.

SUITS PICK

4.  purminerals CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 - I love CC Creams, so I'm always looking forward to trying new brands.  This one is anti-aging which helps.

BEAUTY EXTRA

5.  Birchbox Bobby Pins - This is my least favorite item in the box.  I do think they're cute, but they were hard to get into my hair and it hurt trying to take them out.  I will only probably use these when I want my hair out of my face temporarily.

Although I didn't get makeup in this box, I didn't mind because I have been getting enough of it lately, and wanted more skincare/haircare items.  I will keep this subscription box service for now since it is only $10/month
