PLAY! by Sephora - January 2017

PLAY! by Sephora is a monthly beauty subscription box that includes 5 deluxe samples and a bonus fragrance.  Plus, you will receive a PLAY! PASS of 50 extra Beauty Insider points when you purchase in store!  It's 10/month, but it looks like subscriptions are closed at the moment.  You can have an email sent when spots are available.

I've been receiving this box since last June and have loved every one!  Here's what I got this month...

PLAY! by Sephora - January 2017

1.  OUAI Treatment Masque - This is a restorative mask that helps with damaged hair to feel smooth and soft.  I love hair masks, especially for my hair because it's bleached every 5 weeks or so.  Can't wait to try this!  Currently this item is out of stock on the website, but full size prices are $14 for 3 treatments and $32 for 8.

2.  tarte FRXXXTION Stick - This should be fun to try!  It's an exfoliating gel cleanser that twists up.  The way to use this is to move the stick around your face in circular motion.  It also may help to leave this on as a mask for 10 minutes.

3.  CAUDALIE Resveratrol Lift Face Lifting Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - I love this brand; and I'm always looking for a great moisturizer to try.  This one is an antiaging day moisturizer.  It combines resveratrol and hyaluronic acid to lift, firm and plum skin.

4.  boscia B.B Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 27 PA++ - I like trying new B.B Creams so I'm excited to get this in my box.  This has some coverage, it moisturizes and protects skin.  This is also oil-free which is perfect for my skin.  This is also currently out of stock on the Sephora site, but it retails for $38.

5.  CLINIQUE Almost Lipstick in Black Honey - I like this "almost lipstick."  It is very sheer, so it's prefect if you just want to add a little bit of color.

Here is a swatch...

Fragrance Bonus - Unlike other subscription boxes (Birchbox), this one sends a fragrance as an add-on, it's not included as one of the 5 deluxe samples.  This month its PINROSE Wild Child.  This has fragrances of florals, vanilla, and amber.

Overall, this box is great!  I love that I can get use of out of each these products.  If interested, I highly suggest signing up!

Dove Dry Spray from Influenster

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I recently received two Dove Dry Sprays from Influenster.  It took a while for me to get around to testing them out, but I finally have!  I've been a fan of Dove antiperspirants for a long time, but discontinued using them since they contain cancer-causing aluminum.  These have aluminum in as well, and though the scents are great and they dry instantly, I will not continue using this.  My husband won't as well.  If anyone is curious in an antiperspirant that doesn't contain aluminum, with great scents and lasts all day, then TOM's is great brand!  I appreciate Influenster sending these to us to test out!

Fortune Cookie Soap 12 Days of Christmas Box

I was so excited to be able to buy this Fortune Cookie Soap 12 Days of Christmas Box!! It is now sold out, but the price was $50 (US).  There are 12 items (7 full-sized!) in previous, best-selling Nightmare Before Christmas themed scents.  Nightmare Before Christmas was the soap box subscription theme for Winter 2013.  Every item is individually wrapped, dating from the 14th of December to Christmas!  I will unwrap each item every day and add it here to this post.  Though this box has been sold out, I highly recommend their quarterly subscription box!

December 14th

On the first day, I received OCD Hand Sanitizer in the fragrance Easter Town.  It has scents of pink sugar and a little bit of black licorice.  Thankfully, it doesn't smell much like black licorice because I can't stand that candy.

December 15th

On the 2nd day, I received a Fortune Cookie Soap in Oogie Boogie (full size).  Normally I love all the soaps that I have gotten in previous FCS boxes, but this one is probably my least favorite.  The scent is decent, it includes a mix of berries and cinnamon, but it's not the most aesthetically pleasing.  It's a weird shade of greenish brown and contains a fake spider.  All Fortune Cookie Soaps come with a fortune inside which is fun!

December 16th

On the 3rd day, I received Whipped Cream in Halloween Town.  I love this scent!  Smells just like cookies!  Whipped Cream is basically FCS' version of body lotion.  It's very thick and moisturizing.

December 17th

On the 4th day, I received a Bath Bomb in Jack.  This item contains notes of lemon, menthol, woodland moss, and cranberries.  This is rather big, so I'll probably break it up when I use it.

December 18th

On the 5th day, I received Bubble Bath in Sally.  It has scents of cotton, breezes, leaves, and twine.  The fragrance, to me, smells fresh and clean.  It's pretty subtle, not overpowering.  Perfect for a relaxing bath.

December 19th

On the 6th day, I received Salve in Sandy Claws.  This is probably my least favorite item in the box so far.  It's not as useful or practical to me.  The scent is very nice, though, with a mix of chocolate and chai.  Yummy.

December 20th

On the 7th day, I received Personal Space in Lock, Shock & Barrel.  Personal Space is an air freshener.  This has scents of pine, spruce and spice.  It's the perfect holiday fragrance!  I will be spraying this all over the house.

Winter 2015 Rachel Zoe Box of Style

I love getting this box in the mail every quarter.  I feel like I'm opening a gift each time; every item is wrapped individually.  This is the 3rd Box of Style.  I've received them all, and I can say with all honesty that it's my absolute favorite subscription.  The box is $100/quarter, but the value vastly outweighs the cost and so worth it!

So pretty!

Alexis Bittar Cocktail Ring

This is the Hero item of the box.  I love this ring and perfect to wear on a night out!  It's Gold Tone Swarovski Crystal and adjustable.  It retails for $198 and exclusive for this box.

Our Heiday Stationary Notecard Set

This notecard set is rather cute.  I don't tend to send notes in the mail, but I will keep these for whenever I need to send out a thank-you!  Retails for $20.

Honest Beauty Makeup Remover Wipes and Lip Crayon

I can always use Makeup Remover Wipes and in fact, I was almost out of my current ones.  Perfect timing!  The Truly Kissable Lip Crayon in Mulberry Kiss, is perfect for day and night!  It's very smooth and creates kind of a lip stain affect.  The wipes retail for $10, and the lip crayon, $18.

Here is a swatch of the lip crayon:

LELET NY Swarovski Crystal Hair Pin

This is so pretty.  I'm not someone who typically spends a lot of time on my hair.  I tend to just curl and go whenever I go out, but now I'm going to have to style my hair so I can use the LELET NY Swarovski Crystal Hair Pin.  Too bad I'm not going to any fancy New Years parties.  This would have been perfect!  Retails for $98.

MarulaOil Rare Oil Intensive Masque & complementary Rare Oil Treatment

Another thing I needed, the MarulaOil Rare Oil Intensive Masque.  I haven't tried this brand before, but what I love about this one is that you can leave this one on for a shorter amount of time.  I hope this works well on color-treated hair!  Retail value is $45.

Ciate London Nail Polish in Strictly Legal

Each subscriber will receive one of three Ciate London Nail Polishes.  I've seen the other two and I'm glad this is the one I got in my box.  I don't own any polishes in this brand, which is surprising considering I have a lot of nail polish.  I love this color and it's perfect to wear this time of year!  This retails for $15.

Foot Petals Custom Tip Toes

All I can say is that these Foot Petals are perfect for those pair of shoes that are bit uncomfortable to stand/dance/walk in.  Retail Value is $8.

This Boulevard Leather Goods bag was an extra for inaugural Box of Style members!  It's adorable and a nice surprise!  I'm definitely putting this little bag in my purse.

I absolutely loved this box and has a value of $412!  Subscribe here!!!  I highly recommend this!

February 2015 - Birchbox (Rent the Runway: Guest Editor Box)

This month I received the "Rent the Runway" box.  I was interested in all the samples included so I chose that instead of one of the other samples.  If you accumulate 500 points, then you're qualified for "Aces" status.  With this you will get free shipping on all orders, anniversary perks and more!  You will also have a choice of picking a sample for the next month's box or the Guest Editor Box.  All you have to do is continue on accumulating 500 points in a calendar year.  This box can still be ordered on the website.  Birchbox is only $10/month; sign up here!

The packaging of this box is so cute.

Fekkai - Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo  I love dry shampoos, but I haven't tried this one yet.  I'm not a real fan of transparent dry shampoos because the ones I've tried don't make my hair look clean at all, but I'm hoping that's not the case with this one.

Not Soap, Radio - Body Wash in The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrows in  I received a different body wash from this brand previously and am excited to try a different one.  I love the scents and product names are clever.

derma e - Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub  I love facial scrubs so I'm always willing to try different ones.

theBalm - Read My Lips  The packaging on this lip gloss is cute and I love the color.

Sumita - Color Contrast Eyeliner  I got this in a navy color.  I would have liked a different, fun color, but this is still nice.

I also received a $30 off code on orders of $75+ for Rent the Runway that I'm not going to use.  If anyone is interested, let me know and I will send it to you!  It expires 4/17.

I like all of these products that I've received this month and will definitely be using.  What did you get this month?

November 2014 - Birchbox

Birchbox is a beauty subscription service that costs $10/month.  They send about 4 -5 samples in each box.  Sign up here!

November 2014 Birchbox

amika Nourishing Mask - This is the item I picked for my Birchbox this month.  I love hair masks.  It hydrates while repairing damaged hair.  I can't wait to try this!

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash - This scent is exclusive to Birchbox.  The one I received is "Joy Inducing," smells of lemon sugar.  Each different body wash scent is supposed to take aim at a specific frustration.

dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner -  I've heard of this product before and was interested in trying it out.  It's suppose to suck the dirt out of your pores.

Make Silk Cream Lipstick - The colors are pretty, but I don't like this type of packaging.  It would have been better to receive a deluxe sample of one color, an actual tube of lipstick.

RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer in RUFFIAN Naked - I've gotten one of these nail polishes in a previous Birchbox and I do like it, but I wish I could of gotten a more exciting color.  At least this is a nice, basic color that I can use.

Chua Chocolatier - This was an extra in the box.  I love chocolate so I was very happy to get this!

I loved everything I got in my Birchbox this month, minus the lipstick, but that's only because of the packaging.  What did you get/are getting in your Birchbox this month?

Fortune Cookie Soap - Winter 2014 Soap Box (Old Fashioned Family Christmas)

This is my favorite Soap Box that I've received so far because of the theme.  It's based off the movie Christmas Vacation, my favorite Christmas movie.

This box is sent quarterly and costs $19.99/every 3 months.  It's $28 for Canada and $34 for International.  Also, each box comes with a $10 Gift Certificate that can be used in their store!  I believe you can still sign up for the Winter Box.

"Moose Mug" Cuticle Butter - Can I refill your egg nog...?  I love the smell of this cuticle butter.  It has scents of rich cream, egg, and a hint of nutmeg.  I don't typically use anything on my cuticles, but I tried and it makes them really soft and look a lot better.

"Mele Kelekimaka" OCD Hand Sanitizer - With visions of swimming pools dancing in your head.  All I can smell in this is the alcohol, but it's suppose to smell like tropical spiced rum, Tahitian vanilla, jasmine petals, and wood.  I do love keeping these little sanitizers in my purse.

"'Tis the Season to be Mary" Fortune Cookie Soap - Buy this for your wife...God rest her soul.  I love these soups, and they always come with fortunes in them, which is even more fun!  This has a hint of sweet almond and tobacco.  Reading the description, I first thought that I wouldn't like the scent of this soap because I can't stand tobacco smell, but I actually love it.  It doesn't really smell like tobacco at all.

"Sparky" Hydrate Me - "We dedicate this to the FCS Family Christmas, drumroll please!"  Mine kind of looks strange, but it smells good!  It has scents of vanilla pumpkin, brown sugar, pecans and whipped cream.  I believe these came in different colors too.

"SQUIRREL!" Whipped Cream - "Handmade with a special low cholesterol recipe."  This is infused with apples, strawberries, plums, oranges, and limes.

Each subscriber got one of four whipped cream scents.  The others are:  "Jelly of the Month Club," "Jello Surprise," and "Bend Over & I'll Show You."

"I Pledge Allegiance, Amen!" Shower Steamer - "They want you to say the damn grace...!"  I was so happy to get one of these, I love shower steamers!  This smells like balsam, mint, garden herbs, and mint.

"Fried Pussycat" Whipped Soap - "Because who doesn't want to smell like fried pussycat!"  I don't believe I've tried whipped soap before, but this has scents of plum, caramel, bourbon vanilla and jasmine.  It does smell pretty good!

"Christmas Bonus" Deep Conditioner - This is a mystery.  If you can guess what it smells like, you could win a $50 FCS Gift Certificate.  Hopefully, I can figure this out!

The actual collection launches November 21st.  I'm planning on buying some of these products using my $10 off code!

November 2014 Boxycharm Sneak Peeks!

My new favorite subscription is Boxycharm!  It's a beauty subscription that costs $21/month.  Here are November's Sneak Peeks...

The first Sneak Peek is OFRA Cosmetics Pressed Blush in "Paradise Pink."  This is actually on sale for $19.96 on their website at the moment.  Subscribers will get this blush in one of three different compacts shown.  I've never heard of this brand before, but I'm really looking forward to trying it even though I don't need a blush at the moment.

The second Sneak Peek is the Kevin. Murphy Color. Bug.  Each subscriber will receive one of three colors: "Shimmer Gold," "Purple," and "White."  It's great for a night out or even during the day and shampoos out in one wash.  This isn't something I would normally buy for myself, but I'm excited to be getting one of these in my box!  I'm really hoping for the Gold!

The third Sneak Peek is Tarina Tarantino Eyelicity Glitter Liner, in either "Black Diamond" or "Glitter Mist."  Most subscribers will receive this product while some newer subscribers will receive another Tarina Tarantino product.  I love this brand and will be happy with either one of these!

I can't wait to see what other products will be in our boxes this month!  Sign up here if you'd like to try Boxycharm!

October 2014 - Ipsy Glam Bag

This month's theme is "Beauty Candy."  I love the bag this month and  I also love most of what I got in it!   Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that only costs $10/month.  It's worth it, you always get more than what you pay for!

Here is what I got this month...

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream - I got this in the scent "Mango Mandarin" and I don't really like it.  The cream itself is nice and very moisturizing, but I'm not a fan of the smell.  I wish I got it in "Rose Berry" because I love rose scented products.

Skyn Iceland Mini Glacial Cleansing Cloths - I love cleansing wipes, especially travel sizes! They're one of my favorite things to get in subscriptions because it's something I can always use.  These will be perfect to take when I go out of town for Thanksgiving.

ECRU New York Acacia Protein BB Cream Beauty Balm for Hair - This is my favorite item this month!  I have never tried BB cream for hair before, but this makes my hair so soft and smooth.

Starlooks Lip Gloss - My least favorite item this month.  Lip Gloss is something I can do without.  This one is kind of sticky and that's why I don't typically use them in the first place.  I may use this over lipstick, but with matte lips being in style right now, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Jessie's Girl Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder  - I got this in the shade "Ocean Breeze."  This to me, is the least usable color scent out.  I suppose I could try a blue smokey eye with this one.

Overall, I'm still happy with my bag this month because of the wipes and BB Cream.  Plus, I love the bag!  I can't wait to see the sneak peeks for November!  Sign up here for only $10/month!
