Scratch Monthly Mani - July 2014

I decided to get this month's box because I absolutely love all the nail wraps!  Each month has a featured artist and the boxes cost $30/month + free shipping (or an additional $8/shipping for international subscribers.)  You have the options of skipping or gifting your box if you don't like what you see.  After your first initial box, you will receive a sneak peek on the 20th of every month to help you decide if you'd like to get/skip/gift it.   Besides the nail wraps, extra's are always include from the month's featured artist as well.

This month's featured artist is Joy the Baker.  I haven't heard of her before, but her blog looks amazing!

Here is the box...

I love all of these designs this month, especially the daisies.  I could see these over black nail polish!

This month's box includes designs:  It's a Picnic, Watercolor Splash, and Daisy Days.  Each set of nail wraps cost $12 if you are interested in buying these or any other nail wraps they have.

Every box automatically comes with a nail file and orange stick.  This month the extras include an awesome color changing scented nail polish by Ruby Wing called "Cut Grass," a paper straw, and a flamingo stirrer.  The straw and stirrer go along with the Mint Julep recipe that's included in the box.  How cute!  I can't wait to see what they have for next month.

I highly recommend this subscription box!  Sign up here!!

Scratch Monthly Mani - May 2014

Scratch Monthly Mani is a nail wrap subscription box.  They release 3 sets of nail wraps design by a specific artist for that month, along with extra's such as studs, nail polish etc, and also a surprise gift!  Boxes are $30/month and shipping is included.  A sneak peek is sent out on the 20th of each month and have until the 28th to skip, gift, or keep the box.

March was actually my first box, I skipped April, but decided to get May's.  This month is all about geometric designs, and the artist is Chelsea King.

The designs are: Reptilian, Prismatic, and Check It Out.  Reptilian and Check It Out are partially see-through.  I think a white nail polish would look nice under those.

For tools and accents, subscribers will receive really cute triangle studs and a triangle tray to hold them in.  The surprise gift was a gold crown ring!  Every box also comes with a cuticle pusher and nail file.

The website also has instructions on how to apply the wraps and should be used within a month of opening.  I love this subscription and it's especially great for someone like me who doesn't have a whole lot of time to wait for nail polish to dry!

I also just found a sneak peek of June's box on the website!  Sign up here!!

February 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

Sneak Peek #1

It's pout perfection with these pretty picks.

The first sneak peek are POPBeauty Plum Pout lip glosses.  They come in 4 shades, but from this sneak peek, it looks like subscribers will be getting one of two shades.

I love lip plumping glosses so I'm excited about this product despite the fact they're sending out more POPBeauty products.

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 4TH

Sneak Peek #2

Hold your heart in your hands? Why not, with one of these awesome nail shades?!

Everyone will get one of two shades of Zoya nail polish.  I rather have the light pink color, but I would be happy with the other one also.   So far, this is shaping up to be a great bag!  Super excited for this month!

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 5TH

Sneak Peek #3

Sugar and spice. Everything nice. One of these sweet picks will be yours this February!

I'm not so excited about this sneak peek.  The first thing I notice, is the eyelashes.  Didn't they just send some out recently? I don't use them nor have I noticed many people wanting them.

Everyone will be getting one of these items in their bag:

1. Jessie's Girl 9 Pan Eye Shadow Compact in Tickled Pink

2. City Color Cosmetics Be Matte Blush

3.  J. Cat Beauty Eye Lashes

4.  Mally Beauty Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner

5.  Who knows?

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 6TH

Sneak Peek #4

You'll be getting one product from this bouquet of beauty picks (fit for the Queen of Hearts)!

Maybe everyone is getting 4 items this month?  I also heard that we are getting two items from the third sneak peek instead of one.  I would of like to get two from this one instead though. So far, the items that have been discovered are...

1.  First Aid Beauty Skin Rescue Deep Cleanser with Red Clay

2.  Pacifica Hawaiian Rube Guava Mini Body Butter Tube

3.  Skyn Iceland Fresh Start Mask with Ice Age Mud

4.  IPKN New York Moist & Firm Beauty Balm SPF45

5.  Dr. Lin Skincare Acne Spot Corrector

6.  Uberliss RituOil

7.  ?

8.  ?

There are two more products that I don't think have been figured out yet.  I already have a sample of the First Aid Beauty Cleanser so I think I would like any of these besides that or the BB cream.

I would have to say that I only want the eye shadow palette, but I hope I at least don't get the lashes nor the blush.  Hopefully, the next sneak peek is better.

Julep Maven Box (It Girl) - December 2013

It's been a while since I've taken a Maven box.  This month I decided to go with It Girl.

December 2013 Julep Maven Box - It Girl
I chose 'It Girl' because of the Christmasy-themed colors.  Even though, I have yet to try these out!  I was initially drawn to the glittery gold and green shades.  The red I don't care much for, but I'm sure I will use it eventually.

'It Girl'
The shades included are: "Celia," "Shoshanna," and "Evelyn."  I also decided to get this box because I wasn't interested in the eyeshadow palette.  Even though I'm obsessed with buying all sorts of palettes these days, I have enough neutrals.

Extra
The extra for this month was two hair ties from Twistband.com.  They have their own subscription box, but I will pass on this one because I don't need that many hair ties.

Over all, I'm pleased with what I got.  Julep only costs $19.99/month and you can skip as many months as you like.

I'm debating whether or not I should get a January box since I've acquired quite of few polishes lately!

November 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

This is exciting!  This month we will receive 6 items in our Glam Bag!  It looks like we will get 5 items plus an EM Cosmetics product.  I wasn't interested in buying any EM products because nothing looked remotely interesting and it's too expensive, but I will gladly try it out.  Just no black mascara, please...

Ipsy is only $10/month.  Sign up here!

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 1ST

Sneak Peek #1

You asked and we listened! To kick off "Glam It Up" month in style, every ipsy subscriber will be getting a glamorous goodie from this "em"spiring makeup line! Which product are you most excited to try?

It has already been established that we are getting a product from EM Cosmetics.  I was hoping for a different spoiler today...oh well.  These items seem to be a mascara, lipstick, eyeliner, and lip balm.  I would probably like the lip balm the most.  I have plenty of eyeliners and lipsticks, but I would take one of those over the mascara.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 5TH

Sneak Peek #2

These lip products are perfect for your party clutch and, this month, you will be getting one of these undeniably glamorous shades!

These are lip crayons from Be A Bombshell.  I think I would rather have the pink shade because I would get more use out of that one.

Sneak Peek #3

A touch of color and a hint of sheen - a little dust of one of these and you'll be good to glow!

These may be Pixi bronzers?  That's something I would like.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 8TH

Sneak Peek #4

Every toast you make will be a little more glamorous when you use one of these lovely shades to raise your glass.

These two items are Nailtini nail polishes.  I would like either color and can never have enough polish!

Sneak Peek #5

Get ready to sparkle like a diamond with one of these amazing products in your November Glam Bag!

These items have been identified as Kiss USA Ever EZ lashes (double pack), TRESemme hair spray, Cailyn Cosmetics Built-in-Sponge tip Mineral Eyeshadow, Glam glow, HSI Professional Argan Oil, and BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Sampler.

The only items I really hope I don't get are the fake lashes since mine are already naturally really long, the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Sampler because I already have that palette, and the TRESemme because I already have two huge bottles of hair spray and I hardly ever use that type of product.

October 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

The first sneak peek from Ipsy is out!

All subscribers will receive one of these museum-worthy products in a precious shade!

This looks like Zoya nail polish, and every subscriber will get one these.  I love all these colors!  It looks like there will only be three shades, but who knows, there could be more. So far, so good.

Sign up here!  It's only $10/month.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 1ST

Sneak Peek #2

It’s easy to create timeless works of art when you have these products at your fingertips. Some of our subscribers will receive at least one of these products in their October Glam Bag!

I can only pick out the Starlooks lip pencil at the bottom that we got in a previous bag.  The product to the left looks like an eyeshadow, which may be from MicaBeauty.

The item on top may be a jar of H20 Plus' Hydrating Treatment.  That's what I would want.  The other two to the right look like some sort of lotion and a lip/cheek tint (which I don't want because I got the Benetint in July's bag.)

It sounds like not everyone will get one of these products pictured above, and it's possible for some to get more than one of these items?

UPDATE: OCTOBER 2ND

Sneak Peek #3

All subscribers will receive at least one of these products, which are well-suited for making a big, bold statement!

These are obviously both hair styling products.  One seems to be a spray, and the other, a serum.  If all subscribers will receive at least one of these, it seems as though some could receive both of these items?

UPDATE: OCTOBER 3RD

Sneak Peek #4

Some of our subscribers will get the chance to release their inner artist with the help of at least one of these colorful products. Check back this afternoon for another sneak peek!

There's that word "some" again.  It seems that yet again, not everyone will get one of these products, and some will get more than one.  Looks like the products are a brush, maybe some face wipes (possibly La Fresh), and a lipgloss which may be a deluxe size sample of Buxom.

Some are also saying the top left palette is a Wet n' Wild Fergie eye shadow quad, but who knows. There seems to be too much variation this month.

Sneak Peek #5

Some of our subscribers will receive one of these products, which are each perfect for prepping a blank canvas.

I'm guessing that one of these may be a serum, and the other a face scrub?  The one on the left looks a lot like Ole Henriksen Truth Serum.  I hope it is because I would love to get that in my bag.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 4TH

Sneak Peek #6

Have you guessed this month’s theme yet? How might this item fit in? Check back this afternoon for our final sneak peek of October!

Here is the bag!  Looks pretty cute from here.

Sneak Peek #7

Some of our subscribers will receive this super sweet product, the perfect reward for a long week of creative pursuits. Have a great weekend!

This has been identified as Be Delectable Hand Cream.  I hear there are four different scents.  I hope I get this in my bag.  Perfect for the upcoming cold, dry weather.

You can still sign up for Ipsy's wait list.  The sooner you sign up, the quicker you can start receiving bags! Only $10/month!!!

Birchbox: Heritage - September 2013

This month was the Anniversary of Birchbox and each box contained a polish by Ruffian.

September 2013 Birchbox

This month I received...

CC Cream, Moisturizer, and Facial Towelettes

1.  Yes To Grapefruit CC Cream - I do like Yes To products, but I don't need another CC Cream.  So sick of getting these samples, but at least this won't go to waste.

2.  Mereadesso All-In-One Moisturizer - There is a pretty good amount of this product considering it's in a foil packet.  I will definitely try this out.

3.  Yes To Blueberries Cleansing Facial Towelettes - Another Yes To product, and this is a good one.  I love cleansing facial towelettes and can never have too many.  This is perfect for the next time I travel.

Lip Gloss and Nail Polish

4.  Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss - I already got this from Sephora in the same exact size.  It came with two other deluxe samples.  I probably won't even use up the other one so I don't know what to do with this.

5.  RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer in Fox Hunt - I liked all the colors available, and this one too, but I initially wanted Hedge Fund.  This is still a pretty orange color for fall though.

Even though the majority of these items will be used, I'm still contemplating canceling Birchbox.  Yes, it is only $10/month, but it's not exciting or as fun as other subscriptions.  I don't look forward to it like I do with other subscriptions.  Plus, I can take that $10 and apply it to another box that I would want more.   I'm giving it another month.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box - September 2013

This is probably my favorite beauty-related subscription box that I have tried so far.  I have loved everything I have received.  Blush Mystery Beauty Box is only $24.95/month or you can try it for one time for $34.95.  All boxes have over $100 worth of product, and contain full and sample-size products.

You can still sign up to get the September box!

September Blush Mystery Beauty Box

This month comes with...

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel and Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt
1.  Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel - It's a flake-free formula that keeps brows in place.  I have been looking for a new brow gel so this is great!

Value (sample) - $6.68

2.  Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt - This was Sara Strand's (Creative Director for Pop Beauty) pick for this month.  It's a really pretty bright pink color.  This was featured in July's Ipsy, but thankfully I didn't receive this shade.  This only comes in a set.

Value (full size!) - $4.17

Fuchsia Flirt Swatch

Brad Biophotonic, Alterna, and Amlactin

3.  Brad Biophotonic Skin Care Ultra Peel - This is suppose to treat brown spots for an even skin tone.  It is a leave-on peel.  I definitely need this since I have old dark spots caused by acne.  Fun.   The full size product is very expensive ($175.)

Value (sample) - $25.74

4.  Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo -  Dry shampoo is always good to have.  I will keep this to take with me the next time I travel.

Value (sample) - $.83

5.  Amlactin Triple Action Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Foot Cream - This is suppose to get rid of dead skin cells and smooth feet.  I was just looking for something like this the other day, funny.

Value (full size!) - $10

Prussian
6.  LVX Nail Lacquer - I haven't tried this brand yet, but I heard it's a good one.  I got the color Prussian, and people will receive one of six shades.  I'm really loving this color!

Value (full size!) - $16

Racinne Deluxe Travel Set

7.  Racinne Deluxe Travel Set - This set contains four products to help reduce signs of aging.  I haven't heard of this brand before, but I am looking forward to trying these products out.

This comes with Ultimate Youth Power Neck Emulsion ($14.96), Ultimate Youth Power Cream ($19.04), Ultimate Youth Power Serum ($20.33), and Ultimate Youth Power Mask ($19.38.)

Value - $73.71

I'm so happy with this month's box and will use all of these products!  I came up with a total of $137.13!!! I love getting way more than what the products are worth!

Julep Maven Box: It Girl - July 2013

I seriously think that Glossybox can learn a thing or two from Julep.  I got Julep Maven's July box at the end of June.  I chose "It Girl again this month.

It Girl
I love these polishes!  I got Angela, Nadia, and Tracy.  Angela is probably not something I would wear in the summer because it is so dark.  It's a very dark, iridescent green and I love that.  Nadia is a nice golden nail polish that would be nice to wear during the summer, and Tracy is very nice sparkly blue.  That color can probably be worn any time of year.

Extra
The extra this month is Green Tea Facial Blotting Papers.  I'm so happy I got this because I have been needing these.  I will be bringing these with me to Vegas tomorrow, it's around 120 degrees there right now.  This is good size pack too, containing 40 sheets.

Julep Maven is only $19.99/month!!
