October 2014 - Ipsy Glam Bag

This month's theme is "Beauty Candy."  I love the bag this month and  I also love most of what I got in it!   Ipsy is a beauty subscription service that only costs $10/month.  It's worth it, you always get more than what you pay for!

Here is what I got this month...

Figs & Rouge Hand Cream - I got this in the scent "Mango Mandarin" and I don't really like it.  The cream itself is nice and very moisturizing, but I'm not a fan of the smell.  I wish I got it in "Rose Berry" because I love rose scented products.

Skyn Iceland Mini Glacial Cleansing Cloths - I love cleansing wipes, especially travel sizes! They're one of my favorite things to get in subscriptions because it's something I can always use.  These will be perfect to take when I go out of town for Thanksgiving.

ECRU New York Acacia Protein BB Cream Beauty Balm for Hair - This is my favorite item this month!  I have never tried BB cream for hair before, but this makes my hair so soft and smooth.

Starlooks Lip Gloss - My least favorite item this month.  Lip Gloss is something I can do without.  This one is kind of sticky and that's why I don't typically use them in the first place.  I may use this over lipstick, but with matte lips being in style right now, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Jessie's Girl Mineralized Baked Shadow Powder  - I got this in the shade "Ocean Breeze."  This to me, is the least usable color scent out.  I suppose I could try a blue smokey eye with this one.

Overall, I'm still happy with my bag this month because of the wipes and BB Cream.  Plus, I love the bag!  I can't wait to see the sneak peeks for November!  Sign up here for only $10/month!

January 2014 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

Finally, Ipsy has posted their first sneak peek today!

Sneak Peek #1

Fabulous lips, Fabulous life! One of these lip products will give you a reason to have some adventure this new year!

The two on the left look like CAILYN Tinted Lip Balms, and the one on the right for sure is (MALIN + GOETZ) mojito lip balm.  I'm hoping to receive the mojito lip balm because I have more use for that.

We have already received Cailyn lip balms in a previous bag so I'm hoping these are of a different brand.

UPDATE: JANUARY 7TH

Sneak Peek #2

So many beautiful horizons ahead! Make your 2014 your mostly beautiful year ever with one of these great products.

Everyone will receive one of these products.  The product in the middle looks like Yaby Liquid Foundation and the other two look like Elizabeth Mott Smooth Shadow Smooth Shadow Creamy Eye Pencils.  I suppose I would rather have the foundation over the pencils.

So far, I'm not too excited about these sneak peeks.

UPDATE: JANUARY 8TH

Sneak Peek #3

Gorgeous for 2014, 24/7! From desk to dinner, your lovely look will last with one of these awesome products.

Everyone will get one of these 5 items.  Benefit's the POREfessional is one item I don't want because I already have a full-size in this.  The blue spray bottle looks like Sexy Hair Healthy Sexy Hair Soy Tri-Wheat Leave In Conditioner, the white jar is Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask, a makeup brush from a brand I can't figure out, and a spray bottle containing something that looks like some sort of oil.

I would be happy to get the leave in conditioner or the hair mask.

UPDATE: JANUARY 9TH

Sneak Peek #4

The 2014 adventure begins now! Start it off right with two of these picks in your January Glam Bag!

Everyone will get two of these items in their bags.  They are: ALTERNA Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo, willa on the go face towelettes, and the rest I'm not quite sure of as yet.

UPDATE: JANUARY 10TH

Sneak Peek #5

Here is the last sneak peek, which is the bag.  It's so very ugly, but I only care about what's in the bag!

November 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

This is exciting!  This month we will receive 6 items in our Glam Bag!  It looks like we will get 5 items plus an EM Cosmetics product.  I wasn't interested in buying any EM products because nothing looked remotely interesting and it's too expensive, but I will gladly try it out.  Just no black mascara, please...

Ipsy is only $10/month.  Sign up here!

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 1ST

Sneak Peek #1

You asked and we listened! To kick off "Glam It Up" month in style, every ipsy subscriber will be getting a glamorous goodie from this "em"spiring makeup line! Which product are you most excited to try?

It has already been established that we are getting a product from EM Cosmetics.  I was hoping for a different spoiler today...oh well.  These items seem to be a mascara, lipstick, eyeliner, and lip balm.  I would probably like the lip balm the most.  I have plenty of eyeliners and lipsticks, but I would take one of those over the mascara.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 5TH

Sneak Peek #2

These lip products are perfect for your party clutch and, this month, you will be getting one of these undeniably glamorous shades!

These are lip crayons from Be A Bombshell.  I think I would rather have the pink shade because I would get more use out of that one.

Sneak Peek #3

A touch of color and a hint of sheen - a little dust of one of these and you'll be good to glow!

These may be Pixi bronzers?  That's something I would like.

UPDATE: NOVEMBER 8TH

Sneak Peek #4

Every toast you make will be a little more glamorous when you use one of these lovely shades to raise your glass.

These two items are Nailtini nail polishes.  I would like either color and can never have enough polish!

Sneak Peek #5

Get ready to sparkle like a diamond with one of these amazing products in your November Glam Bag!

These items have been identified as Kiss USA Ever EZ lashes (double pack), TRESemme hair spray, Cailyn Cosmetics Built-in-Sponge tip Mineral Eyeshadow, Glam glow, HSI Professional Argan Oil, and BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Sampler.

The only items I really hope I don't get are the fake lashes since mine are already naturally really long, the BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Sampler because I already have that palette, and the TRESemme because I already have two huge bottles of hair spray and I hardly ever use that type of product.

October 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks!

The first sneak peek from Ipsy is out!

All subscribers will receive one of these museum-worthy products in a precious shade!

This looks like Zoya nail polish, and every subscriber will get one these.  I love all these colors!  It looks like there will only be three shades, but who knows, there could be more. So far, so good.

Sign up here!  It's only $10/month.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 1ST

Sneak Peek #2

It’s easy to create timeless works of art when you have these products at your fingertips. Some of our subscribers will receive at least one of these products in their October Glam Bag!

I can only pick out the Starlooks lip pencil at the bottom that we got in a previous bag.  The product to the left looks like an eyeshadow, which may be from MicaBeauty.

The item on top may be a jar of H20 Plus' Hydrating Treatment.  That's what I would want.  The other two to the right look like some sort of lotion and a lip/cheek tint (which I don't want because I got the Benetint in July's bag.)

It sounds like not everyone will get one of these products pictured above, and it's possible for some to get more than one of these items?

UPDATE: OCTOBER 2ND

Sneak Peek #3

All subscribers will receive at least one of these products, which are well-suited for making a big, bold statement!

These are obviously both hair styling products.  One seems to be a spray, and the other, a serum.  If all subscribers will receive at least one of these, it seems as though some could receive both of these items?

UPDATE: OCTOBER 3RD

Sneak Peek #4

Some of our subscribers will get the chance to release their inner artist with the help of at least one of these colorful products. Check back this afternoon for another sneak peek!

There's that word "some" again.  It seems that yet again, not everyone will get one of these products, and some will get more than one.  Looks like the products are a brush, maybe some face wipes (possibly La Fresh), and a lipgloss which may be a deluxe size sample of Buxom.

Some are also saying the top left palette is a Wet n' Wild Fergie eye shadow quad, but who knows. There seems to be too much variation this month.

Sneak Peek #5

Some of our subscribers will receive one of these products, which are each perfect for prepping a blank canvas.

I'm guessing that one of these may be a serum, and the other a face scrub?  The one on the left looks a lot like Ole Henriksen Truth Serum.  I hope it is because I would love to get that in my bag.

UPDATE: OCTOBER 4TH

Sneak Peek #6

Have you guessed this month’s theme yet? How might this item fit in? Check back this afternoon for our final sneak peek of October!

Here is the bag!  Looks pretty cute from here.

Sneak Peek #7

Some of our subscribers will receive this super sweet product, the perfect reward for a long week of creative pursuits. Have a great weekend!

This has been identified as Be Delectable Hand Cream.  I hear there are four different scents.  I hope I get this in my bag.  Perfect for the upcoming cold, dry weather.

You can still sign up for Ipsy's wait list.  The sooner you sign up, the quicker you can start receiving bags! Only $10/month!!!

Blush Mystery Beauty Box - September 2013

This is probably my favorite beauty-related subscription box that I have tried so far.  I have loved everything I have received.  Blush Mystery Beauty Box is only $24.95/month or you can try it for one time for $34.95.  All boxes have over $100 worth of product, and contain full and sample-size products.

You can still sign up to get the September box!

September Blush Mystery Beauty Box

This month comes with...

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel and Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt
1.  Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel - It's a flake-free formula that keeps brows in place.  I have been looking for a new brow gel so this is great!

Value (sample) - $6.68

2.  Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt - This was Sara Strand's (Creative Director for Pop Beauty) pick for this month.  It's a really pretty bright pink color.  This was featured in July's Ipsy, but thankfully I didn't receive this shade.  This only comes in a set.

Value (full size!) - $4.17

Fuchsia Flirt Swatch

Brad Biophotonic, Alterna, and Amlactin

3.  Brad Biophotonic Skin Care Ultra Peel - This is suppose to treat brown spots for an even skin tone.  It is a leave-on peel.  I definitely need this since I have old dark spots caused by acne.  Fun.   The full size product is very expensive ($175.)

Value (sample) - $25.74

4.  Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Dry Shampoo -  Dry shampoo is always good to have.  I will keep this to take with me the next time I travel.

Value (sample) - $.83

5.  Amlactin Triple Action Alpha-Hydroxy Therapy Foot Cream - This is suppose to get rid of dead skin cells and smooth feet.  I was just looking for something like this the other day, funny.

Value (full size!) - $10

Prussian
6.  LVX Nail Lacquer - I haven't tried this brand yet, but I heard it's a good one.  I got the color Prussian, and people will receive one of six shades.  I'm really loving this color!

Value (full size!) - $16

Racinne Deluxe Travel Set

7.  Racinne Deluxe Travel Set - This set contains four products to help reduce signs of aging.  I haven't heard of this brand before, but I am looking forward to trying these products out.

This comes with Ultimate Youth Power Neck Emulsion ($14.96), Ultimate Youth Power Cream ($19.04), Ultimate Youth Power Serum ($20.33), and Ultimate Youth Power Mask ($19.38.)

Value - $73.71

I'm so happy with this month's box and will use all of these products!  I came up with a total of $137.13!!! I love getting way more than what the products are worth!

September 2013 Blush Mystery Beauty Box Spoiler

This month's Blush Mystery Beauty Box will include a POP BEAUTY Pouty POP Crayon in Fuschia Flirt, which has a $14 value.  There will also be six other items, totaling $115!

The POP BEAUTY Pouty POP Crayon was included in July's Ipsy bag, but I didn't receive Fuschia Flirt, thankfully.  It does look like a pretty color.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box is a monthly subscription that costs $24.95 or $34.95 with a one-time purchase.

I do highly recommend this subscription service as they do send out some great products.  This will be my third box, and I have already got a shipping notification!  They ship UPS and their shipping is pretty fast.  It was shipped  yesterday and scheduled delivery is for this Friday, the 13th! I can't wait to see what other items are in this box!!!

BeautySage Editor's Pick Box - August 2013

The BeautySage Editor's Pick Box is a box of samples the editors have picked as their favorites for the current month.  It's not a subscription where you're automatically charged every month.  You have to purchase these boxes yourself if you want to try the products.  You already know what you're getting in this box, but it was only $10 and I was interested in trying out the products.  Unfortunately, it is already sold out.

Left to Right on top:  One Love, Shea Terra, and Clarisea.
Left to Right on bottom:  Clark's Botanicals and Christopher  Drummond Beauty

The products included this month are:

1.  One Love Organics Brand New Day Microderma Scrub and Masque - I love the idea of using this as a scrub or a masque.  For the scrub, all you have to do is mix 1/2-1 tsps of this product to warm water to form a liquid paste.  For the masque, you take 2 tsps of this and mix it with water for a tightening masque, or mix with 2 tsps of plain Greek yogurt for a clarifying masque.  Also, you can add honey for a hydrating masque.  This is a full-size product worth $12!

2.  Shea Terra Rose Hips Black Soap - This interested me because I've never tried a black soap before, even though it technically looks dark brown.  This is a deep pore facial cleanser and 100% natural.  It's for all skin types, but it does help in getting rid of acne-causing bacteria.  On the bottle, it says it's made from an ancient African formula.  This sample size is worth $4.50

3.  Clarisea Sea Salt Solutions Beach Wave Salt Spray - This is the product that influenced me to purchase this box at first.  I have never tried a salt spray before and have wanted to for a while.  This sample is worth $2.25

4.  Clark's Botanicals Deep Moisture Mask - This is quite an expensive product.  The original full-size version is $72!  This mask has algae extract and is suppose to help diminish fine lines and wrinkles.  I'm not quite sure how much product is in this jar.  This product is and Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner!  So this must be good.

5.  Christopher Drummond Beauty Blush Alluring in Plush Pink - This is a very nice color.  I do have something similar, but I will be using this.  Perfect travelling size!  This sample doesn't mention how much is in it either, but the full-size is $28.  I don't usually like to guess.

Blush and Moisture Mask
Here you can get an idea of the blush color and what the moisture mask looks like.  The mask smells and looks like lotion.  It definitely looks moisturizing!

I love all of these products and can't wait to try them.  I can easily say that all these products together are at least over $20, since I can't figure out the last two.

Even though they are sold out of this box, they do have another sample box for $10 called the Safe Sun Sample Box available.

Birchbox - July 2013

This is my first month of getting Birchbox, and for only $10/month, why not.  I signed up a little late for it so I may have not got the best items, according to those who have been getting Birchbox for a while, but I'm pretty happy with my first box.

This month USA's hit series SUITS was the inspiration for these samples.  I don't watch that show, nor have I ever heard of it.

1.  Caudalie Divine Legs - I've never tried this brand before and it also seems like a one-time use packet. This is a firming, moisturizing, tinted lotion that is suppose to give you a beachy glow.  Most tinted lotions I believe to lack moisture.  I will be saving this to use on a night out.

2.  COOLA Classic Face SPF 30 Cucumber Moisturizer for Face - Anther COOLA product.  I just got one in my Ipsy bag, but this one is different thankfully.  I can never have enough face moisturizer!

3.  Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect - This is a leave-in conditioner.  This will probably be my favorite product right here because my hair is a little dry these days from bleaching it.  It's a good travel size too.

SUITS PICK

4.  purminerals CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40 - I love CC Creams, so I'm always looking forward to trying new brands.  This one is anti-aging which helps.

BEAUTY EXTRA

5.  Birchbox Bobby Pins - This is my least favorite item in the box.  I do think they're cute, but they were hard to get into my hair and it hurt trying to take them out.  I will only probably use these when I want my hair out of my face temporarily.

COOLA, purminerals, and Number 4
Caudalie, and Birchbox bobby pins
Although I didn't get makeup in this box, I didn't mind because I have been getting enough of it lately, and wanted more skincare/haircare items.  I will keep this subscription box service for now since it is only $10/month

Ipsy Glam Bag: Beach Beauty - July 2013

This is my second Ipsy Glam Bag and just love everything that I got.  Even though I liked June's, I think this month's is even better! The hot pink see-through bag is so cute and perfect to put in your beach bag.  I think that's why they made it waterproof.  I wasn't too concerned about which items I was going to get this month because I absolutely liked every single choice.

Here is my bag..

I got:

1.  Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof spray - It is a humidity resistant spray.  This is something I can definitely use.  It is a little bit humid here in Michigan, some people think it is more than others, but it is not as bad as it is in Georgia where my family lives.  I plan to be going down there in the next couple of months, and to the beach, so this will be perfect to bring with me.  It is a great travel size!

I haven't tried this product before, but I have tried Big Sexy Hair shampoo and conditioner, which was alright.

Retail Value = $7.80

2.  Benefit Benetint - It is a cheek tint and lip tint.  I will probably use this more on my lips because I am not the best at blending in cheek products other than powdered blushes.

I have most definitely have other products in this brand, but have not tried this specific product before.

Retail Value = $6

3.  COOLA Mineral Sunscreen Rose Essence Tinted moisturizer - Anything that has SPF in it is perfect for the summertime.  The rose scent is very nice and not overpowering, though I wouldn't mind if it was because I love rose-scented products so much.

I have never heard of this brand until recently nor have I tried this product.  This is another item perfect for the beach.

Retail Value = $4.90

4.  Pop Beauty Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush (Full size!) - This is the color that I wanted!  It is the perfect coral color and goes well with my skin color.  I love that it is a retractable crayon and you don't have to sharpen it.

I have probably one item from Pop Beauty and it's an eyeliner...I think. LOL.

Retail Value = $4.17

5.  BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample - There are three eyeshadows in this tiny palette sample from three separate palettes: BH Hollywood, BH San Francisco, and BH Malibu.  I do like these shades and although it seems they may not all go together, I've seen some nice eye looks that people have come up with.

I love BH Cosmetics.  I have the 1st Edition Eyeshadow 120 Palette and I keep wanting to buy more, but then I spend my money on other things!

Retail Value = I have no clue.

Swatches...

Pouty Pop Crayon in Coral Crush, Benefit Benetint, and BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadows

The total Retail Value of this is $22.87 +.  That's pretty good for only paying $10.

I love this month's Glam Bag and will use all items!  I love Ipsy  because you get pretty nice sizes for only $10/month!

July 2013 Ipsy Glam Bag Sneak Peeks

A pop of perfect color will be yours from sand to sundown.

This one is a Pouty Pop Crayon from POP Beauty.

Sun or city, guard your skin from spots and wrinkles with this instant summer fave!

This seems to be a deluxe-size version of COOLA Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tinted Moisturizer. I love rose-scented products.

Have fun finding the perfect beach-look with this gorgeous combination of California colors!
This next one is a BH Cosmetics California Collection Eyeshadow Sample.

These two products are:
1.  Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray
2.  Soy Renewal Beach Spray Conditioning & Texturizing Spray.

I'm hoping to get the beach spray, but I will be happy with either one.

These products are:
1.  Benefit Benetint sample (the item in the email canceled subscribers received.)
2.  derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub
3.  Demeter Salt Air Perfume Oil Roll On
4.  Nailtini Straight Up Color Nail Lacquer in Mai Tai

Everyone will only get one of these four options, and it looks as though not everyone will get the Benetint like I thought.  I'm hoping to either receive the scrub or the perfume.

Last, but not least, is the sneak peek of the bag.  I love that this is hot pink and vinyl.  This will be a great little bag to put into my beach bag.  In fact, I actually do have a pink vinyl beach bag that looks just like this!

I'm really looking forward to this bag.  I love all the products that could be in it, so it's not possible for me to be disappointed with any combination!

Glossybox: American Beauty - June 2013

After what seemed like forever, here is June's Glossybox.  I thought it would never come.

June 2013 Glossybox
Frome Left to Right: c. Booth Honey Almond Nourishing Dry Oil Mist, Philip B.  Peppermint & Avocado Shampoo, tarte complexion enhancing lipstick, SpaRitual Favorites Nail Polish, and Oscar de la Renta perfume samples.

The only thing I'm not sure if I will use or not, is the Philip B. shampoo.  Since my hair is color-treated, I don't think a clarifying shampoo will be great for my hair.

The c. Booth dry oil mist seems like the perfect thing to use when skin is dry.  I will probably take this with me to Vegas and when I go to the beach later on this summer.

I know some people were complaining about the tarte lipstick, but I actually like it, and is probably my favorite item in the box.  The center is pink, and when applied, gives off a nice pinky-nude color.  I did get the fair-to-light shade, and it goes well with my skin tone.  The container of the lipstick is cardboard, but it doesn't really bother.  It is very sturdy.  I have a perfume stick with similar packaging.  I've brought it with me while traveling, and it has never gotten damaged.

The SpaRitual nail polish is not something I would wear during the summer.  The color is called "Death by Chocolate," and it is literally the color of chocolate.  I only own one brown nail polish, and though I do like the color, it's something I would wear during the fall only.

I do really like the scents of the Oscar de la Renta perfume samples, and they come in a really cute bag with charms at the ends of the ties.  I always like having perfume samples around because they are easier to travel with than a glass perfume bottle.  I will probably take these with me when I go to Vegas this Tuesday.

Overall, I do like the box, but as of now I have cancelled...already.  This is only my second box.  I may wait and see what will be in the July box to decide if I want to reactivate my subscription.  The retail value of this box is around $40.

I am really disappointed that the box didn't include the Bondi nail polish.  I will have to make a purchase from their website real soon, they have so many nice colors!
